This prayer is meant to be a led by one person, with the congregation echoing back each phrase that they hear.  (The prayer is not printed in a bulletin)  It was used for a pre-Thanksgiving worship service in the Eden Seminary chapel.

(Please join me in prayer by echoing back what you hear.)

Blessed are you,

loving God,

who brings forth food from the ground,

who sustains the lives

of all your creatures,

and gathers us back to you.

We gather here

with thanksgiving for all your works,

knowing it was not by our own hand

that we have come this far.

May the fruit of our time together

be patience,

and passion for justice.

We pray this

in the  name of Jesus,

the first fruits of resurrection.
